Week of training


I have had a good week of training so far despite the cold temps. Days have been below 0 on my 2 runs. I have had to pick and choose the least windy days. I ran some speed work on Tuesday with 10X400's @ about 1:30. Monday and Thursday I put in 30 min each night on my bike trainer. Friday it was about -15F as I ran some pace work with 1 mile warm and cool and 3 miles@ a bit less than 7:00/mile. Hopefully I can get my third run in on Sunday which will be somewhere between 6-8 miles depending on the windchills. I have decided to start training for the full marathon in Fargo May 22nd. I will run a 16 week training schedule running 3 days/week and try to add 2 days of cross training on my bike trainer.

Cold Saturday

I ran about 6 miles today in 46:00. It was about -15 today but it was fairly calm which made it feel better than other runs I have done this winter. Rosebud went 2 miles and Maggie and Minnie made the full trip with me. We were all pretty frosty by the time we arrived home.

Catching up again

I ran last Sunday about 5 miles. Tuesday I ran some intervals 1600,1200,800, 400 in about 6:45 pace. Thursday I ran some pace work 1 mile warm and cool with 5 miles at 7:10 in between. The weather has been quite cold, around 0 with quite a bit of wind all of those days except Thursday.
